Sleek with a crisp contemporary flare. We started with a confined small u- shape kitchen with a small pass thru into the living area. Our first goal was to open up the kitchen to the living space. We updated the windows, relocated the appliances and incorporated a large prep island for a growing family. Selecting the white gloss slab door style was a key design element! The dark granite is a strong contrast with the bright cabinetry but anchors the space with all the natural lighting. We accented the back splash with a "watery colored " linear tile to compliment their breath-taking lake view. Unique overhead lighting, brushed stainless steel hardware, graphite colored tile flooring and the warmth of an existing support beam creates a spacious open floor plan.
The working triangle is key to any kitchen! I added a secondary sink to the island that serves as a prep sink and a bar sink to the adjacent beverage area. Key features included were a storage pantry, double trash bin, utensil drawers, glass cabinet doors, built in micro unit , snack bar seating space, broom / utility cabinet, beverage refrigerator and that's just a start! We paneled the built in Subzero refrigerator "to soften" the stainless punch and to give more focus to the 36" range and new window area. I staggered the wall Cabinet heights on the upper sink wall to accentuate the great ceiling height.
We created a kitchen that focuses on layout, detail and key elements that accommodates several facets for this client's wish list. It's now bright, spacious and yet very stylish! Blessed to be a part of the design team in this amazing house renovation. A Complete transformation!
